How do you deal with taking medication?

I need to take medication in the morning soon after I wake up or else it’s very difficult to function, and also some time later in the day. It’s much easier for me to avoid eating in the mornings, so eat between 12-6 or 10-6 sort of thing. However I tried taking my medicines on an empty stomach and ended up getting severe gastritis that I still have 3 months later. I don’t know what to do. I have a family and don’t want to constantly skip meals in front of them or not eat with them. Particularly my toddler has a hard time eating unless others are eating.

Answer

I take a few fiber pills about 15 mins before my medication and it seems to prevent the GI distress I would get from taking it on an empty stomach. It’s under 15 calories but is just insoluble fiber, so I don’t see it breaking my fast I any way other than gut rest.
