I just picked up a job at a coffee shop. So I feel like it might be easier fasting there than sitting at a desk to focus. I did a 24 hour fast today throughout work and it wasn’t that hard. I don’t know if alternate day fasting would be crazy? Seems like I can go either extreme.
The last time I fasted, I worked out. Now, I don’t have the time to.
Coffee shop will keep you on your feet so yay for added movement and steps! Watch out for the usual “all coffee you can drink for free” thing that some coffee shops do for employees if that’s available to you - that’s an easy way to get suckered into drinking all your calories, unless you stick to black coffee or tea.
For me i have a job that requires movement daily (manufacturing), but I also get to spend time at a desk working on projects. I just stick to drinking warm water or tea out of my insulated travel mug until noon when I break mine with lunch, and avoid any office snacks. Two weeks in so far it’s worked well.
Last time I tried fasting a year ago (knew less, did not plan as well, was very short lived) i’d just drink coffee with a bit of cream (again, knew less), but wasn’t as watchful of empty calories in food offered by the workplace, which is very easy to sort of end up eating while staring at a screen all day.
