16:8 is the max i can do and pushing it. What did you guys do to get to 18:6
I’m into hour 26 now. Distraction is the name of the game. Walking, gaming, watching tv, taking a shower & grooming/skin care I find pretty distracting. Most of all get to bed early. Can’t eat while you’re asleep ;)
It’s a timing game, for me.
I don’t mind going to bed a little hungry, so I start my fast in the early afternoon. That way, I’m sleeping through the first few serious peaks of ghrelin. By the time my alarm goes off at 5:30 am for work the next day, I’ve usually already fasted 16 hours.
And more importantly, my body has switched into a mild ketosis that can suppress my hunger for hours after that.
I’ve tried starting my fast during different hours of the day, and it’s the only regimen that works with my lifestyle. I gotta be asleep during that 12-14 hour mark, or I’m a hungry bear.
