I just started IF and I’m having trouble sticking to my 18:6 plan because I’m an in home care caregiver during the time I’m fasting and I have to make peoples lunches and dinners for them since they can’t do it themselves and making food and not being able to eat it is pretty hard. Any tips?
I have a young child I’m constantly buying/preparing food for during my fasting time, and one thing that helps is that I almost never eat those same exact foods myself. Kind as if I worked at, idk, McDonald’s, and had a rule for myself that I only ever ate Burger King. Usually it’s stuff like buying them a different kind of bread than I eat, or their food having substantially different seasoning than mine, or ingredients that I don’t eat. It gets a little weird around simple things like fruits and vegetables, but there I try to at least prepare them differently in some regard (even just doing it in a different spot with different tools), so that the “now it’s eating time” cues are different than the “here I am preparing this for the child” actions.
