How do you spread out food across the eating window?

I’m trying out IF for the first time with a 16/8 schedule. It feels fine so far. Currently my window is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. most days.

One thing I’m curious about is whether there’s a preferred way to spread out food across the eating window. Start light to break the fast and end on a heavy meal to stay full longer into the evening? Spread out the calories more evenly across the window? What’s your approach?

I’ve been doing 16:8, which has been more like 17:7 lately. I’m also following WW points. During the week, I usually have either a salad with a lean protein or a cup of Trader Joe’s harvest chili or lentil soup w/ ancient grain’s and a small salad w/o a protein between 12:30 and 1:30. A late afternoon snack is either a banana, a non fat plain Greek yogurt or a couple hard boiled eggs. Most nights I go to the gym and get home around 7. Dinner is a lean protein, veggies and most nights a small carb serving. And I have one piece of dark chocolate ( like a Dove or Ghirardelli square) most nights right before my fast starts. On weekends I try to maintain 16:8 but my windows are later.

Started this lifestyle on Jan 15 and down 13.7 lbs as of this morning.

I do 19/5 most days. Three small meals 230,530,730. I’m low carb and typically eat about 85g fat 85g protein 25 g carbs. I am in a groove lately its so much easier than I thought it would be. Started Jan 1 and I’m down 23 pounds already. Hope this helps.
