I’ve been doing IF for over 3 months and I love it. My stomach feels empty in the morning but I drink coffee and then it feels fine. Don’t really get hungry until my eating window starts at noon or later. It’s been great for controlling my blood sugar and for weight loss. I was amazed at how easy it has been! You might like to try it for a week and see how you feel. The only downside I’ve found is sometimes I feel lightheaded, but that seems to happen when I haven’t been eating enough (less than 1K calories/day). I was a major breakfast food lover and I love this way of eating!

10 days into 16/8 here, I’m still a newbie but I’m surprised at how easy it’s been. I never feel hungry until it’s time to eat and I get full very quickly so sometimes I don’t even finish my entire meal. I feel in control for the first time and it feels amazing.

Most of the time I’m fine. Occasionally I get up and feel like crap. Mostly I push on through, and sometimes I eat. I feel my body tries to tell me something sometimes. If I’m unwell or migraine etc. But I’ve actually started to not like how I feel in the morning if I eat.

If I’m feeling ok I exercise, it makes no difference. You are trying to educate your body to use your fat as a food source.

Most of us are used to constantly having an instant food source right there, which is not what our bodies evolved to do. We’ve forgotten how to access our fat reserves.

Every new thing feels hard at first.

I’m four weeks in on a 16:8 schedule. I have my first meal at noon and I try to be done at 8:00 pm. What has happened is when I give myself a day on the weekend to have breakfast nothing really sounds good. It’s really been kind of weird. To be honest I could ALWAYS eat a donut but I don’t have those laying around so I’m ok.

I found my struggle point with hunger is between 3-5:00 in the afternoon. I’m not weak but usually bored and snacking was always my go to activity. So I’m trying to have a good load of protein at my first meal and then plan plan plan a healthy snack in the afternoon. So moral of the story is keep busy, stay hydrated and get your protein in each day. The hunger cues should work themselves out and it should get easier to fast.
