Answer

I mean, how much of a deficit are we talking? Because if you mean the healthy amount of 500-1000-ish (even more in some cases), yeah, that’d be possible to keep up till healthy.

Anyone can survive in a calorie deficit, though it becomes a problem when/if you become malnourished. (Severely underweight.) Definitely won’t kill you outside that, as long as you get your appropriate macros.

Hope that helped.

Answer

Yes, but if it’s a huge deficit that results in rapid weight loss, the body can fight back. And the result can be an even slower metabolism once the body returns to original weight (see the studies on the biggest loser)

Answer

I did it personally (my journey actually lasted 1 week short of a year) but I’ve since learned about “diet breaks” aka consuming a maintenance level of calories for a couple weeks before resuming the routine of being in a calorie deficit. That seems like a much more reasonable and less mentally challenging approach to me personally. If I had to do it over again, that’s the method I would go with.

Answer

Depends. When you say calorie deficit do you mean “while still consuming proper vitamins/minerals and protein/carb/fat to meet daily minimum requirements to be health”. . Or do you mean starving yourself

Scottish man Angus Barbieri (1939 – 7 September 1990) fasted for 382 days, from June 1965 to July 1966. He lived on tea, coffee, soda water and vitamins, living at home in Tayport, Scotland, and frequently visiting Maryfield Hospital for medical evaluation. He lost 276 pounds (125 kg) - World Record.

Answer

Maybe for about 2 years. It will take that long, but it’s worth it. Especially if you find dieting coupled with working out to be fun (you’ll eventually find it fun and love it because you’ll be seeing results).

It can be very tiring physically, but the reward that comes after it: a better physique, clearer and stronger mind due to always challenging yourself, the confidence, feeling lighter and feeling younger, making you live longer, it is priceless. It makes it worth it.

Answer

A morbidly obese person can maintain a calorie deficit until they get to their desired body weight potentially. But what constitutes a calorie deficit will change as weight is dropped so I would just recommend re-assessing what calories need to be to be in a deficit.

Answer

At 6’1, I was 355 lbs in January and I’m now 255 lbs today. Eating around 2000 calories a day plus exercises. Doing Intermittent Fasting.

I never feel hungry. I don’t even think about food outside my eating window (10am-4pm).
