How long do you recommend fasting

I am F, 5’8, and currently 155.6 lbs as of this morning. I’m on day 2 of a water fast but I would like to get down to 135 atleast. How many days should I do it. I did a 4 day fast before (along with other <24 ones)and that was easy but I had to stop cuz this my friend didn’t like me doing it and didn’t understand.

I had the ambitious goal of 30 days. First prolonged water fast. Realized bad timing to end it right before thanksgiving. Knocked it down to a 21 day goal. Currently on day 12. I’ve felt great the entire time (after first 2-3 days). From what I’ve read as long as you’re getting sodium, magnesium, potassium (electrolyte mix). I think you should also listen to your body. Mine hasn’t thrown any red flags at me. I believe my body is in a state of ketosis now and just running on my stored fat (plenty there). Which is why, from what I’ve read, some recommend keto diet after coming out of a prolonged fast. To keep your body in that state. Getting energy from fat instead of glucose.

You may not like this but no one else knows your body better than you specially not your friend when fasting you do not want negative ppl around you as fasting is a physical as well as a mental exercise/renewal

my advice try 4 days if happy carry on to 7 and maybe 2 weeks monitor it as you go along

frankly you ain’t that heavy I am a male 5’8 and hovering between 150/160 not sure if 135 is you best weight when fasting I come down to 140 and stabilize there and after fasting always go back to 150 or so

remember your body has a set weight and will always try to go back to it (if you eat properly)
