How long is too long for a pure water + electrolytes fast?

I don’t want to do my body harm so how long would be a good length of time for this? I’m thinking maybe a month but that seems excessive

Answer

I can’t see what you look like from here nor whether you have any underlying medical conditions so who knows. Somewhere between a day and multiple months.

Just because you could do a month doesn’t mean that it would be the best course of action, specially if you are just getting started. Heck there are even folks that would aim for a month because they would rather fail at something big instead of failing a more modest goal. Basically in their subconscious they set themselves up for the more acceptable fail.

What are you trying to work on?

Answer

if you’re just starting to fast, it can definitely be tempting to jump straight into a loooong fast, but you really have to work up to it. Even though it’s physically possible, you’ll inevitably succumb to the cravings and be likely be discouraged. At least you’re already mentioning electrolytes so it seems you’ve done research. tbh I haven’t done too much more than the baseline research, but I’ve read comments citing sources that say to not fast if you’re under 20 BMI. Depending on your bodyweight, that may or may not allow your body to fast for a month.
