What should I do about minerals and electrolytes?
It depends on your goal. Also how often you do it. Longer fasts require longer time between fasts. I prefer 2-3 day fasts weekly, but one of the most studied regimens is 5 day fasts monthly. If I lived alone I probably would do that one but the realities of having 3 kids means I can’t really do the longer fasts because I’m too weak to parent well after a few days. Then there is the one meal a day method - fasting for 20-22 hours every day. That works great for fat loss and correcting insulin resistance but less longevity benefits because autophagy never fully hits max.
