How long should I go

Hi I’m new to fasting and not that expirenced with it I was wondering how long I should fast for.weather it be longer the better or just consecutive 2 to 3 day fast? I’m looking to lose weight

I think it really depends on how much weight you are trying to loose, and how much you have to loose too. I spent 3 months doing 2 rolling 48’s during the week (eating weekends and on Tuesdays and Thursdays), and then switched to 3 months of 2 rolling 72’s during the week, shifting to eating just Wednesdays, leading up to the holidays. In those 6 months I lost 70 lbs.; I’m 42 and 5’7” sw 300 lbs.

Both are easy enough to maintain as a lifestyle change, but the more you fast, the more you’ll lose. Best of luck!

How long have you fasted for previously?

If you’re new to fasting, have you done 16:8 (16hrs fasting, 8 eating)? 20:4? OMAD (one meal a day)?

That’s where I’d start. You can work your way up to multi-day fasting.

With regards to “the longer the better,” not necessarily. It depends on your goals. (Lose weight, take advantage of autophagy, reverse metabolic illness). Many could be accomplished with shorter fasts.
