Hey folks! Just looking for some ideas on how soon you saw your initial losses coming in? Im 45 (f) and started IF a few weeks ago, fasting between 8pm-12pm and eating about 1300cal in feeding window. So far zero losses and I’m starting to lose my motivation with no change. Am I eating too much in my feeding window? Or does it just take a bit longer to see some results? Thanks so much for your input!
Try going to 18:6 or 20:4 and eating two small meals in the short eating window.
I’m at 2 months and didn’t weigh until this morning…12 lbs gone! (I’m a 52F. It’s tough budging weight at this point but it does budge!)
I was feeling the same after 1 month of 16:8. I have changed to 20+ hours of fast for at least 5 days a week and I can see some change.
I’ve read that if you’re anywhere near your BMI, 16:8 might just be for maintenance. Try to put in more fast hours to move the needle.
You might not be eating enough. 1300 cals is still super low for any one person. Your body may be retaining due to really low caloric intake. Possibly increase your calories during your OMAD or transition to OMAD every other day or mix in other fasting periods throughout the week to help.
I feel you. My scale literally broke from water damage like a day before I started IF. I decided I’m just not going to buy a new one until I’m at least a month in. I would probably find it demoralizing.
Six days in — and with mess-ups — I already felt some skirts fitting better and no longer showing a paunch.
First: Your calories are too low. 1300 is not going to help. Take the time to calculate your basal metabolic rate. I don’t go below 1600. Minimum. A ketogenic healthy fat based diet is key to losing weight and is a multiplier for IF. Second, it took 40 days for me to see meaningful results. I am now losing inches and the scale is slowly moving. If your body has healing to do, weight loss will come second after internal healing. Your body knows what to do. Stay very well hydrated with water- 2-3 liters per day.
