I’m new to intermittent fasting. I’m starting by having an eating window between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. I’ve been doing this for 3 months and so far it’s been great. I have not noticed a decline in my weight though. I’m curious to know if maybe I’m not eating enough food or the right foods in between that time. How many meals and what type of meals do you eat. And how many hours do you space out between those meals?
When I was doing a similar window, I’d eat at 12 and then again at 6 or 7 which gave me enough time for dinner and a little snack after dinner.
I may recommend, if you haven’t, counting your calories for a little to see if you’re staying within your range. Very possible you’re eating too little or not enough and you don’t realize it.
I don’t count calories. I eat when I’m hungry. I sometimes eat 3 meals and snacks in my 5 hour window. I’m doing 19/5, first month I did 16/8 and lost 10 pounds I have been doing 19/5 and lost another 4 pounds. total 14 lbs in a month and a half. every other day I eat lower carbs. Usually under 50. The other days I eat whatever I want.
Tonight I had 1 boiled potato, 1/2 cup carrots, 1/2 cup of onion/ celery cooked, 1/2 cup of corn and a very small piece of cornbread ( no sugar). 3 oz roast beef Lunch: salad with a boiled egg, cheese, chopped boiled chicken with a teaspoon of mayo.
50 carbs, 1000 calories.
I have a similar eating window. I do lunch (400 calories), a 200 calorie snack, dinner (another 400 calories), then one final 200 calorie snack before the eating window ends. Foods are usually pretty high in protein and veggies, with a serving of carbs and healthy fats during the 2 meals to keep me full.
