How much garlic is too much garlic?

I’ve recently discovered I love pickled garlic and can happily down one or two bulbs easy. Not cloves, bulbs. Do I need to tone it down? Or is eating that much garlic everyday ok?

Answer

I’d just watch your blood pressure. Garlic is a natural antihypertensive due to blood thinning properties. It’s not as potent as approved medications but can still be effective at large quantities. If you start to feel dizzy, lightheaded, bruise easy, or cuts are a bit more bloody: you might want to cut back on the amount of bulbs you eat.
