How much of a deficit is needed for 16:8?

I have been working with a dietitian for the last couple of months and we have settled on a good plan, focusing on high protein foods. However, eating throughout the day for a long time really does not work with my metabolism and I have not been able to shift any weight. I have eased myself into fasting with 14:10 for 10 days and have now started 16:8. Wondering what sort of deficit is best to notice results on 16:8? My maintenance is 2109 cals.

Answer

I was eating over 2,000 cals for years and got up to 237lbs with several health problems, reducing calories to 1,500 and taking a couple of weeks for my body to adjust I began to see results. I shoot for 1,300 calories now so if I eat over it’s no biggie and I’m still in a deficit. I find that it’s easy to eat around that number 6 months in and 30lbs down.
