How much protein? to avoid loose skin?

https://thefastingmethod.com/how-much-protein-is-excessive/

I’ve heard jason speaking along time ago that eating less protein gives a higher chance for the body to eat up extra skin as protein, Would that be ideal for adf to avoid loose skin?

Answer

adf is a really great way to tap into this protein reclamation based on things Dr Fung has mentioned as well as other research. There is a time between 20 hours and 30 hours where your body converts protein into energy and that is the sweet spot, from what I have been able to understand.

Answer

From what I have understood while listening to Dr. Fung on a lot of podcasts, and also reading some of his books-

Avoiding / reducing loose skin is probably more related to extended fasting, like a few days or longer. That’s when autophagy and apoptosis really kick in, and certain organs start shrinking.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about how much protein you’re eating during alternate-day fasting, it probably won’t make that much difference with your skin.

In fact, you should probably make sure you get adequate protein on the feasting days, rather than trying to cut back, since you won’t be getting any on the fasting days.
