Those with kidney disease have to be very cautious with potassium, because for them, the potassium would not get eliminated from the body and could have fatal results.
But for a healthy person, do they need to exercise caution with potassium supplements as well? Would it be a bad idea to have 100% DV of potassium from supplements (such as NoSalt)?

Obviously getting the majority of your potassium intake from whole foods (such as tomatoes, potatoes, spinach) would be ideal but supplementing a bit with NoSalt should be fine, especially if spread throughout the day. I typically add about 1200mg of NoSalt to my daily drink that I sip on while I exercise to replenish electrolytes.
i remember a few years ago reading about someone who was on that raw, minimal food type diet fad.. and they are almost a whole bunch of bananas each day, ended up getting quite sick from the potassium od. i am pretty sure they were also taking vitamin supps though.. i think in general it’s pretty hard to overdose on potassium, mostly you get a little nauseous and stomach ache from overdosing on vitamins
