I’m 16 and interested in dryfasting - however, lots of people say that the body needs to be fully developed before I participate as it may interfere with growth of new cells. Is it okay to dryfast when I’m 16? Or do I need to wait a few years?
It is okay to dry fast at 16! For youth it is advised to not go on extended since your body is maturing still. But everyone has parasites so you will still do the body good by fasting
Just make sure that you are eating enough on the side since the teenage body is growing 👍🏻
After puberty, you can fast like we do. Puberty for boys ends at around 16 or 17, it shouldn’t be a problem to start now. but start slow first. For example, fast for 16 hours for a week. After that increase it to 20 hours.
While doing these, don’t forget to eat ketogenic diet. Also, eat your fruits and vegetables.
You should be eating plenty of meat and animal proteins. Besides that I would say it’s safe beginning around 10, although occasional and probs no longer than 2.5 days, more likely less than 1.5 days. Growth Hormone should rise a large amount during it, should keep your hormones strong, but you should eat more than you’re used to if you even want to dry fast one day a week. It’s good to have some fat on you! Combined with proteins and some exercise if anything it’ll be good for growth. Kids these days are getting diabetes or thyroid issues and those would certainly be fixed with dry fasting. That said as a teen your metabolism is gonna be fast so be ready to eat a lot.
You got to have a good reason for it. Don’t skrew yourself up at a young age. For example, if you go real low body fat, your Testosterone will go down, and your voice, beard and dick won’t develop. If you just want to loose weight, do normal fasts with salt water. Dryfast is cool maybe once a month or something, but be safe. Its also not easy!
