How Strict Are You? Do You Use Coffee Creamer? Chew Gum? Anything Else?

I have a tendency to go all in no matter what I do but I was curious what others thought. My fiancée thought I was crazy for not even having skim milk or sugar free creamer in my coffee and said it was a bit excessive but she knows how I am. I’ve seen people say not to chew gum and I understand where they’re coming from but will that actually break a fast? It’s just a habit for me. At work. At the gym. I’m always moving and it’s just something I’ve become used to. Thoughts?

Answer

Just plain water, or broth if I’m sodium deficient. I fast anywhere from 24 hours to 120 hours (5 days) and it works great.

I used to allow breath mints and sugar free drinks, and it did work - but I had more cravings. When I switched to water I stopped daydreaming about junk food, haha.

I’d recommend avoiding skim milk or creamer. If you need something in your coffee, heavy cream works better, since it’s almost pure fat. Fat doesn’t interfere with fasting as much as protein or carb will. Good luck!
