It’s the mental game. You choose :) I always remind myself I can have it later and I know I’ll regret it if I break my fast over a whim and never tastes as good as in my mind with guilt on top, but I know it’ll taste amazing after I hit my goal
I use a lot of distractions. Food isn’t the only thing with flavor. I use a wide variety of calorie-free beverages (coffee, many kinds of tea, electrolyte drinks, and flavored soda water like La Croix). You could also try flavored water, or I think some people do salt water, vinegar water, watered down broth or pickle juice. All of these things taste infinitely better while fasting for some reason, so I try to focus on enjoying that. For tougher cravings I brush and floss my teeth. It’s a good mental reset, and the minty fresh mouth is a deterrent.
I usually drink some cold mint tea , hibiscus tea or ginger/turmeric tea and these kinda simulate the spices in food and make me feel quite content. I guess it’s the psychological game we gotta play but yea I’ve woken up dreaming about eating borbon biscuits, it happens.
I usually eat some pink salt and drink lots of water once I get these thoughts. If I still feel unnecessarily hungry or I have cravings, I ask myself why I feel that way. If it is a sugar craving, I watch videos, read or listen to stuff telling me how it is harmful to my body. If I crave for something else like dark chocolates, it could be because my body needs iron, copper, magnesium etc. When that’s the case, I eat it in moderation.
