How to handle a medicine needing taken 2x a day that says eat with food?

I’m supposed to take it twice a day but I’m aiming for a OMAD. So that would put me having one dose during fasting. The side effects of taking it without food are manageable. Headache and nausea.

I’m assuming my options are modify my eating schedule while I’m on the med, or just take it without food. I’d love to hear what worked for you.

Answer

This is a question for your doctor honestly. I also have meds I need to take twice a day. Some meds need to be taken with food to avoid nausea. Others actually work better with food. In my case I talked to my doctor and she said it’s ok to take it with my first and last meal (i also do 8:16). So now I i focus less on doing the full 16h but rather focus on getting at least 8h between the 2 meals so that it don’t accidentally take the doses even closer together.

But what is ok or not ok to do with your specific meds should be a chat with your doctor or at least pharmacist.
