how to keep things vegan keto in between rolling fasts during refeed

I’ve seen Jason Fung say that keeping the refeeds in between rolling are best kept keto. I’m a vegan. Does this mean I should just eat a lot of avocados and then go back out into the next rolling fast?

Vegan keto is a very difficult diet obviously, but it gets much easier if you don’t mind eating the same thing repeatedly. Here’s a go to of mine that coincidentally ends up being vegan and keto. First off, I make my own veggie stock from vegetable scraps I collect in my freezer. With this I create a wonderful vegetable soup.

I have a smoker, so I personally toss my veggies in olive oil and smoke them, amount of time depending on what I have. I almost always have broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini in it though. If you don’t have a smoker, just oven roast them, but I also recommend something like the Char Broil brand electric smoker, it’s super easy to use, and only a couple hundred bucks, and takes veggies to the NEXT LEVEL.

So take your smoked veggies, and your broth, and combine with all the herbs and spices you like in your soups. If you’re not eating keto, this is a great place to add in barley, or another whole grain, and chickpeas or other beans for protein, but if you’re going keto, I would get your protein with either some tofu, lepini beans, soybeans, peas, or just eat some pepitas on the side, although I would avoid those on a refeed for digestive issues.

When your soup has simmered for a while, this is when I add in either fresh spinach or kale as I’m taking it off the stove, for some nice flavor and nutrition.

It’s going to be delicious either way, but if you go the extra mile and smoke the veggies, you’ll LOVE it.

A second option that is always good is a nice dinner salad, throw in different greens, nuts or seeds, some tofu (roasted in oven after being soaked in soy or liquid aminos is great), all the good veggies you have on hand, and a homemade vinaigrette makes a good vegan keto option.

I do low carb vegan. Lots of veggies, avocado, tofu, tempeh, nuts and seeds. It’s actually not too bad to cook at home, but forget ever finding options when you eat out.

I highly recommend Heavenly Fan on YouTube. She has the best vegan keto recipes!

Only did about 4 months of vegan years ago. Mostly to try it out, not doing it anymore. I don’t judge anyones diet choices, but it’s super freaking hard to do Keto and Vegan. I’m sure you can find stuff out there, but vegan is all plants, and all plants have carbohydrates. I just don’t see how it’s sustainable. Vegetarian maybe, if you allow eggs. But vegan keto just won’t work in my opinion.

I try not to focus on any particular type of diet. Because I feel over restrictions make Weightloss unsustainable. I lost 25lbs with in 4month and I eat whatever I like! #healthyeating #weightloss #lifestyle
