How to optimize my current fasting regime with ADHD meds

Hey

Last 2 weeks I’ve been on a fasting regime where I alternate between 24h fasts and variation of the “16:8” diet. So far I’ve had really good success with doing x2 24h fasts, only drinking tea, coffee, or water and then x5 “16:8” where I have a kale/fruit/chia/protein powder smoothie around 3pm and eat my final meal (usually chicken, veg, and rice with miso soup) at 4-5pm.

current meds (morning):

current supplements (night):

The major complaint I have now about the current regime I have is that I tend to have very low energy in early mornings and it feels like my concerta doesn’t kick in properly until around noon. I wake up 6:30am everyday and go for morning walk / light jog with my dog, and start working (from home) around 7:30-8:00am.

I am going to pharmacy later today as I need to stock up on supplements/vitamins, what other supplements or vitamins can I add to my current regime? I heard L Theanine could be a good supplement to take in the morning alongside my morning coffee? Lurking other threads I also read about selenium, collagen, iron, turmeric, and niacin being used alongside fasting and concerta.

Does anyone have any suggestions/reccs? Should I replace certain vitamins I know take with a more general multivitamin? Are there certain supplements be taken in the morning, or is it better to take them all at night before bed?

Answer

That supplement setup looks very good.

Morning energy-lows would be helped by replacing some of the carbs with fatty meats/dairy, in my opinion.

For me personally, tanning is the bomb when it comes to energy/focus overall. It also eliminates a lot of hunger. Perhaps this indicates I have an underlying vit-D deficiency.
