How to prepare for a fast as a student?

I used to be able to fast for a few days quite easily but now even intermittent fasting is difficult. I try to eat healthy but I do consume a lot of sugar by way of coffee creamer, occasional candy, and some processed/fast food.

What would be the best way for me to prepare and ultimately to fast without having it make my studies too difficult or uncomfortable? I snack a lot while I study :(

Answer

I’m terrible about snacking while studying. Part of it is that I need to be constantly doing something while studying. So what helps me is chewing gum, sipping tea, squeezing stress balls, knitting (if I’m watching a video or otherwise don’t need my hands). I also keep a lot of self care supplies at my desk, like cinnamon lip balm, peppermint aromatherapy, lavender lotion. A variety of things that satisfy the sensory inputs. So when I feel an urge to snack I engage with one of those things instead and then the moment passes and I forget about snacking.
