How to stay on IF long term but stop losing weight after goal weight is reached?

It’s been 2 months. I’m steadily losing 0.5% of my body weight weekly, and in a couple of months will hit my goal weight. I want to keep with 16:8 for health and energy but I don’t want to go below goal weight.

The last posts on this topic were several years ago. Snacking - could work. Skip days - no, I need consistency. Add more energy to each meal? I don’t see how I could. I’m already stuffed after meals.

Any new thoughts?

Answer

This is what is working for me. I started out doing 16:8 2MAD with some longer fasts added in. I found that I mainly lost weight during the extended fasts and maintained doing 16:8. So I kept doing the longer fasts until I reached my goal weight. Since then I have been doing 16:8. 6’1M started at 270lb, GW 210lb. Reached my GW in 4.5mo, have maintained 205-210 range for 6mo. My 16:8 is 2 large meals, sit down and eat for 30-60min, but I basically never snack outside of meal times. I love it.
