How to sustain

I’ve been following stories on this thread for a while and I think I’m ready to try to better my life. I do have some worries. With limited calories, will I struggle to do certain things? I have a manual job, I golf, bowl, do yard work and work on my house. Do I have to limit some of these things? I also fear that I’ll not enjoy life. I like to have a few drinks or beers with friends. Am I never to be able to do that again?

Hi, why wouldn’t you have a few beers? I have them, in my eating window. Food is not as much of a social thing for me, so it’s no biggie but I have seen people can make it all fit in their life. I also don’t count calories, I just do IF and have found I naturally eat much less.

Answer

No, it depends on how much you limit. I have a physicality based job too (fast food restaurant so its a different dynamic then what you might be). You might want to find a calorie deficit that also covers the consumption of calories you incur in these sports. Youd have to drink in moderation as beer can put on weight and throw everything you do out the window. Thats not to say you cant drink again, id use a ideal like once a month for drinking.

Answer

If you eat all the calories you’re currently eating, but you’re eating incorrect things, then what you should worry about is your slow, inevitable spiral down into shitty health and chronic diseases and inflammation as you get older. It will happen to you

I’ve only been doing this for 9 days and I had/have the same fears as you. But after the first 2 days (where I was pretty much hangry for 2 days) it got pretty easy. In fact I’m starting to notice I’m less hungry than I think when I do eat that first meal. Like I’ll think “@ exactly 12pm I’m going to eat like a whole pizza because I’m starving.” But then I have 2 slices and I’m full.

The hardest part has been cooking for my family, I cannot taste the food I cook (breakfast mostly) for them, and they eat without me some meals (after dinner ice cream made me sad 😞).

I’m still going strong though, no dissiness, no headache, just those first 2 days of being “annoyed.”

ETA more to the point I think you can do it!
