I’m wondering if anyone built muscle while fasting? There are hormones released during a fast like testosterone, IGF-1(insulin like growth factor 1)and HGH (human growth hormone) which support muscle growth but I’m wondering if i need to adjust my macros in anyway to optimize my potential. Some of these hormones burn off fat as well show i consume more fats above maintanence? 🤔

So I’ve been lifting and doing intermittent while on a calorie deficit the last 5-6 months. First 3-4 months I didn’t see much muscle gain but the last 2 months I have seen quite a bit of muscle gain. What really helped me was keeping my protein quite high, I’m consistently having about 180-200g of protein per day.
