I binged on junk food before this fast and weird things are happening

I usually don’t eat junk food (and I’m pretty familiar with fasts – I usually do 24-36 hours, but have done rolling 72s before), but the night before this fast I decided to have a cheat meal. It was a mess – chips, chocolate bars, a hamburger, and then a metric buttload of Doritos and fiesta dip. I dunno why, that’s what I was craving.

Normally, the first three days of a fast are just me dumping water weight – usually 5-10lbs. I’m nearing the 48 hours mark and I literally have not lost a single lbs of wieght. I mean, if I wasn’t drinking water I’d have lost several lbs, but I always drink water during a fast and that 3 day water weight dump still happens.

So now I’m imagining a giant mass of processed carbs sitting inside of me, clinging to all the fat and water like some kind of possessive demon. I’m really worried about what’s going to happen as day 3 rolls around and we enter the territory of treacherous farts.

Honestly you are probably just sodium and sugar overloaded, which is making you cling onto your water intake. In my experience bad start, bad fast. It may just take longer to flush out all the sodium and your body to burn through its stored glucose.

You could try some cardio to help your body along burning some of that stored water and glucose.
