Answer

That’s probably water weight. If you eat keto after dry fasting, there should be little to no water weight gain. Carbs attracts 4x it’s weight in water.

If keto is off the table you can keep doing 24 hour dry fasts(eat and drink only once a day). You can also calorie count and set a limit for yourself so you don’t gorge right after a fast.

My friend, never break a fast with food. Especially if it is something dense and hard to digest( fruits would be the best food to break the fast on) that is if I were to break it with food. What I would recommend is to break the fast with high quality water ( i like distilled the best) or some type of fruit juice. Then after a few days of juice/water start slowly reintroducing the foods back into the diet. The body is very sensitive and is probably in shock if you are not used to fasting. Once the body gets what it had been craving it tries to store it away right away which might explain the weight gain.

Edit I shouldnt say never break the fast with food but imo it is best to ease back into the food rather than shock the body after intense healing with the dry fast.

Ever heard of the rebound effect? Long fasting won’t really help you with losing weight if that is your goal. Try intermittent fasting and other ways because it really will makes things worse because your body adapts to not eating much and makes you gain more weight
