I slowly got into fasting over a year and a half, only trying dry fasting after probably 30 water fasts. Cut out all the sugar and refined carbohydrates, stop snacking, move down to eating twice a day (ideally within a 6 hour period), eat pasture raised eggs, lots of steamed veggies and you’ll already be doing major favors for your body. That alone can get you to lose weight if you stick to it and give it at least a month before expecting changes.
Keto omad zero carb etc are diets. Fasting is nothing comes in for time being under. Of you’re new to this do as suggested go slow and take it from there. I started with 16:8 a couple of years ago and today I’m on my second 5 day rolling dry fast.
Like people have said, start with 16:8… for me that just means finishing dinner at 7pm and not eating til 11am.But within a few days you’ll find it super easy to extend that to 18:6 and even 20:4.At that point, when you’re used to it, you don’t feel hungry or tired…. And the weight falls off.
But losing 55lbs might take 5 months… so mentally prepare yourself that this is a marathon, not a sprint. If you miss a day, just get straight back in the wagon.Eventually you might find that you don’t eat at all one day, and by the time you’re up the next morning, that’s a 36+ hour fast. A few of those are great for you too.
I can tell you that carnivore helped me to defeat a sugar addiction and sugar addiction while fasting does not work. I recommend something akin to a carnivore diet, and also switching to decaf coffee. Once the worst parts of your withdrawal are over, fasting should be easy.
