I fu[ked up my 2 day fast by having some (very diluted) bone broth

Hey all, I am attempting my first 48 hour fast mainly to gain the cognitive/ mental clarity benefits and to (as a bonus) hopefully see some fat loss. Unfortunately I without really thinking saw a jar of chicken bone broth in my fridge and for whatever reason decided to have maybe 1/2 cup mixed with hot water and soy sauce around the 24 hour mark so wondering if i should call it quits and try again or if it won’t make a huge difference? If anyone has any knowledge on if I could still reap some benefits from completing the fast please let me know

Answer

You likely temporarily deprived yourself of some fasting benefits in some minor way, but who cares? This is for the long haul. It doesn’t matter that a single mistake was made on a given day.

Tiny bump in the road… get back up and keep going.

Answer

Continue the fast. Bone broth has almost no carbs so your insulin will not have been raised.

I do regular 48 hour fasts. Be very mindful of how you break your fasts. Eat a complex carb with no fat. Wait an hour or so, then eat normally.

A complex carb could be a brown rice cake.
