I have a serious concern about a commonly prescribed antibiotic

This will relate to intermittent fasting and autophagy I just need to explain something real quick.

I got diagnosed with a UTI last week and only took 2 cipro. I believe I have EDS, and this antibiotic is already no good for that. Even after just two, I have noticed a slight muscle weakness all over my body, I don’t move as quickly as I normally do.

Intermittent fasting has been a godsend. I read up a lot about cipro and how it damages mitochondria which power ATP giving us energy.

In terms of autophagy, and the recycling of dead cells…. Would extended fasting possibly heal this toxicity exposure?

If you feel it is the wrong med, perhaps print your research out, and bring it back to the MP. You could also see another MP to get 2nd opinion. (I did this on two occasions, and they were cooperative.)

I have no idea, but I had weird neuropathy after starting cipro for UTI so now I keep it on my list of allergies. My RN-MSN friend is very anti-cipro and warns that it is a black box drug. I am sorry you also had a bad experience with it.
