I have been doing IF for 2-3 years. I got thinner, but I still have a bit of belly fat.

I used to be 1,74 cm 70-72 kgs when I started IF. I reached 58 kg eventually, but even though I was almost underweight my belly was far away from being toned.

So, I returned to my country and I’m living with my mom. I keep doing If, but I’m eating thrice a day. Lunch, a bread with something and chocolate milk or coffee and dinner.

I must be around 68 kg, but since I have been doing abdominal exercises(4 sets of 20 on each other day) since July I think my belly got a bit better, but still far away from being toned. The upper part looks much better than the lower part.

I don’t think I get enough protein, but I just can’t eat too much. I just don’t feel the urge. I always each meat at at least 2 meals per day. I’m trying to insert 1 egg each other day two, but I don’t think that’s gonna make too much difference .

It’s funny because I’m a 23 years old(male btw) and I have never seen my belly without fat. Even though I have rarely been overweight. Do you guys have any tips?

To provide an answer which would help move you along specifically on the lower stomach pouch issue, we would need to have a much more detailed conversation.

But off the top of my head, on the exercise front, I would ask you if you have ever done the vacuum exercise consistently for at least 6 months? (I thought it was silly for years and didn’t do it but once I started doing a minute a day things have changed a lot down there. Jeff cavalier has a video with all the pointers to keep in mind for proper execution).

On the nutritional front, I would advise you to use an app and track your macros for a while just to get a feel of what it takes to hit your protein requirements and how you could tweak your nutrition to help you reach your goal.

As a south asian male, I used to have a similar issue. My body is built to store body fat exclusively in the belly area. I was underweight for the longest time with skinny arms and legs but always had a bit of a belly. The only thing that worked for me was lifting weights and building muscle. I lost nearly all of my belly fat within two years of doing this and I also have a strong body that is no longer underweight.
