I live in Belgium. Which elektrolyte supplement should I get?

Maybe I’m just dumb I have a hard time finding pure electrolyte supplements that do not contain sweets. As recommendations? I’m open to buying online from other countries.

Studies by Longo, Markson, and Jamnandas prove there is no need for electrolytes unless you are fasting for two weeks or longer. Here are some facts about electrolytes and fasting.

  1. Our bodies already hold a large reserve of minerals and nutrients which can last about a month’s worth of fasting.
  2. When in a fasting state, our kidneys are astoundingly efficient at retaining sodium within our bodies. Clinical studies have proven almost no sodium is expelled through urine in patients when doing prolonged fasting.
  3. When starting the fast; any feelings of dizziness or headaches can be easily alleviated by adding a pinch of table/himalayan salt to your water. Himalayan salt is slightly preferred due to its magnesium content.

Hope some of this eases your mind about electrolytes. Have a beautiful fast!

Answer

I recommend getting something with Sodium, potassium and especially magnesium. You lose a lot of water with the reduced glycogen stores and insulin signals in your body. Which is a good thing to lose the water weight, I’m just explaining why you lose electrolytes. Also the potassium needs magnesium to be corrected properly due to certain transporters using magnesium as a coenzyme.

Answer

You don’t need them, honestly, just make your home bone broth - the minerals from the bones and the salt you add has you covered. Take a cup or two of that. The whole supplement thing is marketing rubbish.
