I'm really struggling to not overeat during an eating window

What type of self talk do you give yourself when you get cravings? All I hear in my head is “you’re hungry, you need this now, eat it while you can”!

Answer

Not so much self-talk as culinary distraction. I have gone into my eating window with a long list of things I’m going to have, but then I start out with a salad and that afterdinner bowl of popcorn doesn’t seem so appealing anymore.

Answer

Keep fasting, because eventually that feeling goes away. Shorten your window, because there’s only so much you can eat in one hour, for instance. Also, going keto helps with appetite as well. If you’re not hungry, it’s easy to stop eating when you’re done.

Answer

Just eat healthy low carb vegetables, meat in fats with fiber. Until you are satisfied..your body will get use to it. Then slowly cut back. Take your time and do it right the first time. Your insulin is most likely still a little high

Answer

For me, if I’m going to go to the trouble of fasting, I don’t want to negate that with overeating during my eating window.

Yes, you may be hungry but that doesn’t mean you must overeat. As far as the “eat it while you can” mindset, well, you will have another eating window tomorrow…and the next day, and the next day.

Caveat: I realize this is easier for me since I have had no taste for 6 months but it’s still true.

Also, eat slower so you will know when you are not hungry, anymore.
