I'm thinking of fasting, but I was wondering how do you guys "fast" on certain occasions?

Like of course you could day “no” but lets say it’s a meeting or a certain event, wouldn’t you seem like a prick if you didn’t eat something or you’d be the odd ball out. So I was wondering what do you guys do to stop that scenario?

i plan fasts for another day when there wont be a social eating event and postpone fasts at the last second for such. social eating and living life is priority #1. self maintenance happens off the clock. nobody needs to know i am fasting anyway. works for me.

I try to work my fasting schedule around specific occasions. However, yesterday I joined family for my MIL’s birthday and stuck with water. It wasn’t a big deal, because it was all family. It would be harder for a formal sit down event with strangers, but not a huge deal with passed apps and drinks. If you don’t feel comfortable discussing fasting you can always use a made up excuse, like “oh, I’m opting out tonight because I have a fasting blood test in the morning,” or “I overdid it at lunch and couldn’t manage another bite. It’s too bad, that looks delicious! What are you up to these days.” Etc
