I 16F have done intermittent fasting 16:8 since about May, and while it on its own never made me lose weight, I really enjoyed doing it as it made me feel better about myself.
Lately I’ve been struggling with sticking to a schedule, and when I wake up all I can think about is food. I am now making it so that I can’t eat after 8 by brushing my teeth then, but I can’t think of a way to stop myself from eating before 12.
Once I have to go to school again I won’t have to worry about it as much, I don’t want to have to lose myself every weekend and holiday. I want to teach myself self-control so that I won’t have these sorts of problems.
Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to either stop myself from eating before 12 or on how to develop my self-control?
Adjust your times. If you want to do a 16:8 and like to eat early, move the feed up. Eat between 9am-5pm, fast 5pm-9pm, or whatever schedule you like that works for you.
Fast:feed hours aren’t set in stone.
The hardest and best answer for you is to absolutely, 100% avoid all processed foods, sweets, soft drinks, grains, rice, and potatoes.
What that will leave you with is meat and most non-starchy veggies, and healthy fats like extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, or avocado oil. All of which you can eat an unlimited amount, anytime you get hungry, at least for the first few weeks while your body recovers from what you’ve been eating this whole time.
Eat this way and you will profit mentally, emotionally, and physically every day for the rest of your life
