I use iodized salt instead of Himalayan, is that okay?

I do so because of a little more Sodium (+1/3) and because Himalayan doesn’t have any iodine in it, which is an essential nutrient. I saw that everyone uses Himalayan in the recipe of Snake Juice..

Answer

Yes, it’s fine. Iodine is the part you need.

According to Dr J. DiNicolantonio’s book, “the Salt Fix,” the only thing you really need from salt, besides, y’know, the salt, is Iodine.

Near the back of the book he goes over the more popular variants of consumed salt, including Himalayan pink salt, and compares their effects, benefits, and nutrients. There, he discusses how little effect your choice of salt has on your health, so long as it has Iodine.
