I want to do a 15 day water fast but with a difficult physical job?

The longest water fast I have done was 3 days long and I did it over a year ago. This whole year I have been eating myself to death. Just constant eating out, junk food, fast food, high grease, dairy and sugar! Every day it seems like I go to sleep and I wake up with a stomach ache. I know the obvious solution is to stop eating like this. It has become a comforting addiction but I am ready to stop.

For the past three days I have had no work and have only been eating boiled vegetables and water. I would like to clear my system, reset my body and really strengthen my own willpower. I would like to shoot for a 15 day water fast. I remember feeling great and not actually hungry on day 3 of the 3 day water fast I did before. However, this year I have a high demand job as a kindergarten teacher. 5 days a week I am having to be super enthusiastic to teach and run around chasing 21, 3-4 year olds 8 hours a day.

Do you think a 15 day water fast with this kind of job is doable? Has anyone with a high physical and mental stressing job 5 days a week completed a fast this long? My fear is I will become so agitated not eating while having to deal with these children and the headaches, not being able to function well while not eating. Any advice?

Answer

You could go for the full 15 and probably be fine so long as you got your electrolytes and sleep sorted. I actually find im less agitated after day 3, hangry just stops being a thing. And if you decide to eat on day 5, just start fasting again, rinse repeat 3x.

Bodyfat is food, you’re still eating your full calories a day. It’s just all comin from storage. Being active during the fast can arguably be helpful, fasters that are sedentary lose more lean tissue than those who get their steps in.
