I am US resident, looking to join idm program (to reverse diabetes) offered by Dr. Jason Fung and team onsite in Toronto area. I am T2 diabetic for over 15 years with HbA1C over 8. I am on multiple class of diabetic medicine, so I do not feel comfortable joining the online program offered remotely: https://idmprogram.com/join/ Any suggestions on how I can join the onsite program? Are there any onsite program offered in US? Also, in my case it will be self-referral so will that be enough? Any input I can get will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I’d suggest that you start out trying to find a keto friendly doctor in your area. Then, if you live near a major teaching hospital, I’ll guess that you will be able to find fasting / Diabetes treatment help locally. Perhaps your current Doctor may be motivated to consider helping you with a different approach with more research coming to light.

Dr. Fung is becoming more and more convinced of the wisdom of starting keto before moving to fasting, so you are already at the best starting point.

I believe that even if you join Dr. Fung’s on-line program, you still need to get your own local Doctor involved and then Dr. Fung will consult with your Doctor. He has a very long waiting list, and there is really no reason you can’t start now. Just understand that your medications will need to be reduced and managed along the way:

Then, you just start with Intermittent Fasting by stopping all late night snacking like everybody else. Pick up a copy of “The Obesity Code” as well.
Check this out, I haven’t been to this clinic but Dr. Westman is a recognized keto expert.

Also search and post your question over on the www.ketogenicforums.com, they seem to have multiple threads. Check it Jimmy Moore’s website. There are some chiropractors that are promoting themselves as keto physicians so be careful!
