Answer

I’d opt for straight hard liquor if possible. Alcohol itself has a surprisingly high TEF of 20%, i.e., the body must invest 20 kcal of its own resources to acquire 100 kcal of intake, resulting in a net gain of 80 kcal. It’s also worth keeping in mind that alcohol metabolism in the liver takes priority over everything else, therefore consumption at the very end of a meal plus a safety “distance” would be optimal. Lastly, similarly to fructose, a minority but still significant fraction of alcohol calories goes to replenishment of liver glycogen stores, and when these stores are already filled to capacity the result is fat synthesis; thus, best-case one would go low-carb for a couple of days before drinking, and ideally not go too hard on carbs on the day of the occasion either, to allow their liver the greatest possible breathing space, the rationale being that glycogen is always faster to go than fat.

And now forget what you just read and enjoy yourself. :)
