IF and illness

Hello folks, newbie here.

My GP recommended intermittent fasting and I have lost almost 10kg in 2 months. 😬It’s been amazing, but now my house is sick with flu and the eye gunk monster. Would you pause intermittent fasting while you try to get over what you have, or do you power through?

Usually when I was sick i wouldnt want to eat anyway so i guess i would just stick to fasting but never ignore your body signals, if you are unwell and hungry - eat. When you will get better you can get back on track

I’m just getting over Covid and I didn’t stick to fasting at all when I was sick. I felt way too terrible to even care. I ate nothing but ice cream and noodles for a few days and I don’t regret it. It made me feel better when I felt absolutely awful and could barely boil water in the kitchen. It was weird though because I lost like 2 more pounds! And I was worried about gaining weight. If you’re feeling like crap, take a break until you feel better if you want. It can also be a curve ball for your body if you hit a plateau to eat normally for a few days which can sorta kickstart weight loss again. I think that’s what happened to me.

I would listen to your body and if it needs nourishment, give it. I recently had this stupid flu and had just started fasting. I had to put a pause on it to eat regularly. Needed food in my stomach for Tylenol and ibuprofen.
