I’ve heard that fasting over long periods of time will slow your metabolism but if I eat my body’s usual maintenance calories while intermittent fasting (16/8) is it still likely for it to slow?
In theory IF is even more resilient to this by not sending the body mixed signals of high insulin from eating all the time, which tells the body to favor storing fat not using fat, and a calorie deficit. But yes, if you ate maintenance then there’s no reason for the body to metabolically adapt nor are you losing weight which would also lower your metabolism.
