If im already losing weight, counting calories and all, will IF still help?

Ive lost 70 pounds by counting calories and eating more vegetables. I eat normally from 7 am to 6 pm

If I suddenly go on a 18:6 or a similar fasting window, will i eat less and thus lose weight?

I have most of my calories counted already so im not sure if i eat 3 times in the eating window that ill actually lose weight. I dont want nutritional deficiencies so im definitely going to try and eat 3 meals at like 650 calories each for about 2000 calories total. Im not sure if im even supposed to be counting calories while intermittently fasting.

For reference im 285 pounds, male, 31, 5’ 11”, and i want to lose 100 pounds

I count calories and fast somewhere between 16:8 and 18:6 daily. I love getting to look forward to 2 larger meals instead of eating small meals all day and never feeling full. It’s a great system for me.

IF is < counting calories. Ie. If you do the fast, but then eat 3000 calories in the window, you will not lose weight. But if you eat 1600 calories each day spread out every hour on the hour, you will lose weight guranteed. IF helps alot of people keep their calories down by skipping meals.
