It doesn’t seem like you have a clear goal in mind. I’d recommend trying to focus on one thing you want to change and start there. Trying to change your whole life at once is going to be really really hard. Maybe set a goal to go with 0 soda for a month.
The first question is “which is more painful”; a life without soda or the life you have with it.
Mountain Dew (orange juice based soda) was/is my vice. A week ago I was drinking upwards of six of them a day. That’s 550g of sugar and over a 1000 calories…in liquid form.
It’s hard to give it up but until you’re willing to stop drinking calories weight loss is so damn hard. Doesn’t matter if it’s milk, juice or sodas.
I cut added sugar intake, and I did it from day one of IF. I don’t regret my decision, I’m actually very happy with it. Beginning was hard, but I managed. Now it’s easy. It’s difficult to recommend it to you, especially when you mentioned your health problems. You could benefit from cutting sugar, but I think you should ask your doctor about it first.I eat healthy and homemade meals, and I truly enjoy my food now. Fruits are exceptionally sweet and yummy. Savoury dishes are satisfying, filling, and tasty. It’s a major change, but think about it.If you could change soda pop for homemade favoured water (a few slices of lemon, orange, cumcomber, ginger, or some mint with water left to flavour the water in the fridge) that would be great. You don’t eat the fruit, only drink the beverage. You can drink watered-down tea or cold brew tea.I have found electrolytes with drinks very helpful during a fasting window. I recommend them highly. If you could cut sugar from your coffee, you could stay with coffee and milk during your eating window. I hope that helps. Good luck!
On the food front, it’s great that you’re already accustomed to OMAD.
On the drink front, how many cokes do you have a day? Let’s say you have 8. Can you reduce your daily cokes by 1 at a set interval? Say each week you cut 1 coke out. Additionally, could you slowly transition to black coffee? That would allow you to drink coffee throughout your fasting period.
