I (M39) have been doing intermittent fasting for the last 6 months, with a reduced carb intake. Managed to lose about 25 pounds, after which I stagnated. 2 weeks back I started doing Keto with IF (16:8). I have been finding it difficult to stick to IF since I started keto. Earlier I could go up to 20 hours of fasting without feeling hungry. But now I feel ravenously hungry after 13 hours, and have been breaking my fasts. Any tips on how to handle this hunger will be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Try adding a bit of salt, either on food and on your fasting window to your tongue, keto depletes your water and you need more electrolytes and liquid.
You may think you are hungry and may be you only need a pinch of salt to your tongue.
The only thing that I find hard to achieve once doing IF+Keto is getting enough nutrients and calories during the feeding window, I mean with carbs it’s way easier.
What pops into my mind about your hunger is that you are probably not eating enough fats. Hunger should NOT be an issue if your macros setup is correct. Quite the opposite, in my experience. Fats tend to prolong digestion so that hunger is kept under control for longer after a meal
