There’s a difference between carbs as a category and sugar. Having a bun on your hamburger for dinner or some rice with your hunk of meat probably isn’t going to kill you. What will kill you is going for the desserts too regularly. I don’t feel a need to have a zero carb diet, but I do feel a need to avoid refined sugars.
I’m IF, but not on low carb, but I do try and avoid processed food and sugar in my overall diet. I try and eat more veggies along with brown rice in my diet. More fruit too. When I do snack, I try to limit myself to just 1 bag of chips a week and if I do eat rich food, I try and schedule something healthier for my next meal.
Low carber checking in! I’ve been able to break through my month long plateau through a combination of extended fasting (one 72h one a week) and sticking to a low carb diet.
I avoid mostly processed and starchy carbs and the only carbs I have these days are from fruit like berries and avocados.
Low carb is definitely easier to maintain your fast. I’m really close to carnivore - a pepper or some salsa or pickles here and there. I find I just poop less overall this way - like my body uses every oz of it.
I aim to stick to below 20-30g carbs a day and typically have my 16:8 fasting with food between 2pm and 10pm. It’s slow-ish but working for me. I don’t want to drop lbs TOO quickly because then you get loose skin. Slower allows for time to acclimate.
