Male, 25, 255lbs - I have started IF during the day and only eating in the evening from 6-7. Only drinking black coffee and water in the AM. Started working out again for about 45 min / day burning around 500 calories (light weights mainly cardio). I am worried since I am a bigger dude I’ll burn muscle instead of fat.
Thoughts?
I’m curious why you think you’d burn muscle.
Weight loss is almost always going to involve some loss of lean body mass. But the best way to maintain muscle mass while losing weight is to not cut too aggressively, keep protein up, and focus on resistance training. Hell some folks can even put on muscle while losing body fat. But even without that it’s not like you’re going to suddenly mostly lose muscle instead of fat.
