IF with High BP having to take meds

I’ve successfully done 16/8 or 20/4.

I’ve done a 24 and 36 hour fast but want to try longer.

I have to take a diuretic for my high BP and have been told not to consume salt either.

Cause the pills make me go the bathroom more I find I don’t drink as much water anymore.

Any suggestions? I want to hit a 48 or 72 hour fast just not sure how to make it happen.

Clarification - those with high blood pressure if I can get your experiences I would appreciate it.

I’m new to this, but I know that electrolytes are vital for any kind of fast longer than 24 hours, but you say that might conflict with your medicine. So, I would really talk to your doctor about this first. Fasting isn’t worth hurting yourself.

Edit: I guess I’m wrong, but they’re still important for longer fasts. Either way I’d be careful, go slow, and check your BP and heart rate regularly during the fast, and stop early if anything seems off.

If you’ve done 36h without a problem, I don’t think attempting 48 would be too dangerous, as long as you monitor how you feel. Your doctor told you not to take in any salt because generally all foods contain some amount of salt. If you aren’t consuming ANY food at all, I think that’s different. Even if you had a bit of salt during your water fast, you are still probably consuming way less than if you were eating… I don’t think it would be a terrible thing to drink more water or some broth with a bit of salt if that’s all your consuming.
