IF with regular diet?

I spent all last year eating keto so that I could get my A1C back to normal (was prediabetic). I accomplished my goal but I am sick of eating keto. Wondering if anyone has success keeping blood sugars normal and treating PCOS just doing IF with a normal (not cutting down on any specific macros) diet.

Answer

I do Intermittent Fasting and I only reduce total calories, not macro sources. I still eat smart though.

For example, today I was about 48 hours deep on a 72 hour fast and my roommate invited me out so they could watch the March Madness games so I’m smartly breaking my fast with free beer and half of their pulled pork nachos.

I’m doing OMAD (20:4) window and I restrict nothing. I eat all the foods and and count zero calories.

A typical day for me is a green smoothie, some type of sauteed greens or salad, main meal like spaghetti with garlic butter bread, and a dessert if my tummy has room left before I close my window. I don’t restrict my portions and eat until I’m full.

I did keto years ago and was sad all day. I couldn’t sustain the keto diet and was miserable trying. With IF, I don’t feel deprived at all and wake up so happy and energetic.

I started OMAD at 245 about 7 months ago and today I’m 199.2. This is the easiest way of eating I’ve ever tried and I will never change this lifestyle.

Edit: For PCOS try berberine to reduce and regulate blood sugar.
